Personality: Gennal is a sociable creature first and foremost. He loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. He can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: She cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with her opinion, she thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, she can get violently argumentative. Energy wise she seems alert and responsive.

History: She was born into a rich family. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a daughter. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

He wears crescent spectacles with a black brim.

Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He always tries to repair and not replace. It was this mentality that drove him into the Dilettante business.

History: Born in the south his family was never financially stable. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Dilettante hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Description: A middle-aged man, he is dressed in earthy colors with a grey and yellow handkerchief worn on his left side, and is pretty ugly. He has auburn hair. He wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: He is not truly malevolent, but he is obsessed with writing. He constantly tries to fill his life with writing. He constantly seizes attention wherever he goes and has come to expect this respect from everyone. He likes to think of himself as merciful, but nonetheless is very strict.

History: Oskar lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Oskar grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Oskar. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.
