He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world

History: He was born at the edge of vast mountains. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Dragonborn companion (his 'brother'). He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature halberd.
