Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Personality: This woman loves painting and to teach people painting more than just about anything. She will often invite strangers home for dinner and talk their ears off. She cares deeply for her spouse and does her best to make sure her guests look presentable.

History: A child with a great deal of painting talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She has had some formal painting training, and achieved minor success. Some 10 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Caelynn never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her father had trained her before.

History: Hork hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature sai.

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. Her mother was a soldier and died while she was still young. River was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her sons to still be retired.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister; and regain custody of her son
