History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. She went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. She has never given up on her writing dream.

History: Nogu was born with her mother's beautiful face. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Nogu grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Nogu. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.
