When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Aristocrat in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. Lacking all sense, she decided to go on an adventure. She picked a direction and started trekking.

History: Aelar was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He helped his father out around the business and became quite the natural. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
