Personality: She is quiet and reserved most of the time, but warms up to people very quickly. Around friends she is liable to tell dirty jokes and enjoy herself. History: Born in the south to a Guard, River learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. When the war came and ruined her parents she was left adrift. She was a hard woman then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Guard for the past few years.

Personality: He is extraordinarily eccentric. He disdains his fellow southerners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and he is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out

Personality: She can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. She will often invite strangers home for dinner and talk their ears off. She cares deeply for her spouse and does her best to make sure her guests look presentable.

History: Trained by her father for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. At a young age she wooed the heart of her future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

Motivation: Her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion; and an old rival family wants her found

Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. He is underhanded and not above using his wealth and body to get others to do his bidding.

History: He got into the Detective business at a young age. Ostracized due to the psionic powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Halflings became a terror of the countryside. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Detective responsibilities is difficult; and expand his business
