History: Matilda hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. At a young age her father died while driving off some dire rats. Her mother being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train her in shield use. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: She is a very philanthropic person; she spends her free time working at various soup kitchens. She is used to getting what she wants. In part because she is a meticulous planner.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Serpent grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Serpent. Being a Merchant kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: He was born in the east. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of his oldest sister, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Wants to work out more often; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister
