History: When she was but 7 years old her parents immigrated from the east. A few years later when the south was not economically sound they moved to her current location. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: A grumpy gal she will invite people to lunch so she can critique them. Yet she still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. She seeks to pay back kindness whenever she gets the chance. Whether it be in the form of unwanted serenades or the latest gossip she always seeks to do solids for her friends.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Through the years after Volen was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Volen's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. Some 3 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Volen never married again. History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Personality: She resents people who mock her appearance or her, so she has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. She is susceptible to being scared and is in actuality easily frightened. She likes to tell stories.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Emeny was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone.
