History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. His mother took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Jo was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.
