History: Mardnab was born with her father's beautiful face. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a daughter. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He tends to his Painter job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: He is unsatisfied with his job; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs
