History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Through the years after Pearl was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Pearl's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: Abrasive and pushy, he has a hard time making friends. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Melech hails from a village terrorized by drow. After coming to the age of reason, Melech took it upon himself to study the psionic arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: She has schizophrenia that causes her to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. She has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Emma was a troubled youth. She spent her days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent her evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Emma decided she wanted neither the life of her father nor that of the evil petty criminals she associated with. During her early adolescence, she took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. She now owns her own business.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg; and she feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help

He dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His psionic abilities were realized during a raid on his village. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
