To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Darrak. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He got into the Ploughman business at a young age. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Tieflings in the east were limited. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: She was raised in a island tribe. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. She now owns her own business.

Motivation: She has a rivalry with the Church that dominates her actions; and her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion
