He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Her parents enrolled her in a Commoner school at a young age so that she could practice her divine talents. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
