History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered painting. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: He was born in the west, but his parents moved at a very young age to the south. Cursed with unlife at a very young age, Rurik has worked very hard to control his curse. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and he is greedy
