His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the island due to the painful memories there. Ernest took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up crossbow and armor he uses now. Being a Bookbinder kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: The child of a Courier, who enjoyed hunting, Art was taken on many hunting expeditions. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. After months of barely getting by, Art managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, she made her way to the capital under a new identity.

His face is full, his cheeks are rosy, and he always seems to sport a perfect smile and a twinkle in his blue eyes.

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of illithids once and for all.

History: Spear was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His childhood dream was to be a Ploughman, but he was a colossal failure. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Spear was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: Wants to have a good time and be beloved.

History: She got into the Baker business at a young age. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

He is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with his old comrades. He has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Abad was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Motivation: Marry his brother to traveling adventurers; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
