History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Arnold grew up listening to his father's many stories. In his 14th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature shortspear.

Her father worked until she suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. She had to support her now crippled father and took her father's old job. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: He was born in the west. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
