Personality: Her tongue was cut out and she uses sign language. Animals are drawn to her, and she is able to talk to them.

History: Thiala was born with her father's beautiful face. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a daughter. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She is wracked by social anxiety; and wishes to resurrect an old love

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Philomena grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Philomena. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
