History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Merla was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Like her mother and her sister before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Unemployed. She guards a vault combo very seriously as well as the key needed to open it.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Halfling activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Halfling doctor. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.
