History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Rurik was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He now mingles about in high society.

Description: The woman speaks with an almost imperceptible accent. She seems to always be the slightest bit damp as if she got out from a pool a few moments ago. Personality: She is curt in most of her responses. She prefers to keep her word usage to a minimum to avoid giving away unnecessary information. Animals are drawn to her, and she is able to talk to them.

History: A powerful slaver made her what she is. There was a wharf not far from home where she often wandered off to fish. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

Motivation: She loathes her own lifestyle.

Description: This man is tall and muscular. He likes to wear darkened spectacles and heavy clothing, no matter the weather. With a patchy chestnut beard and wild chestnut hair. He is missing an eye and his face is severely sunburned. His one remaining eye shines hazel.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Bookbinder born in the past three hundred years. He loves his children and doesn't want them to worry about him. He loves to share his writing with anyone who is interested.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Shipwright they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Bookbinder, and he later adopted a second daughter.
