He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying west to reunite his family. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: She exudes charisma. She is a tour de force of persuasion. She does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for her. She lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: Helen lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the east, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.
