History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Gardener hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of philosophers.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Human companion (her 'brother'). She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: A deep hatred of giants; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge
