History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Ratlûg grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Ratlûg. He now owns his own business.

History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She has never given up on her music dream.

History: Born in the east to a Dilettante, Varis learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Elves in the east were limited. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Dilettante and was forced into it by his family.

Personality: His tongue was cut out and he uses sign language. He has a taste for the finer things and spends a great deal of money on luxuries, some more exotic than others.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His childhood dream was to be a Dilettante, but he was a colossal failure. Recently the stress of being a Banker has made it difficult for him to sleep.

Motivation: To reunite with his absent mother; and further expansion of business
