History: Qualen hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. After a long history of fighting, Qualen and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: Many dire rats want him driven away; and he feels threatened by others

Personality: He is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before his hampering stammer kicks in. He lacks restraint and is impulsive. He jumps in and acts without thinking all too often.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Through the years after Halimath was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Halimath's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down.

History: He was born in the west. A freak accident while working with his Bowyer father left him crippled. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.
