History: She was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for her. It may also be what makes her so good at details. Through the years after Orla was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Orla's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Orla and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Juliana was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She was taken from her home at a very young age. Recently the stress of being a Bather has made it difficult for her to sleep.

Personality: She is business-like. She takes instructions and follows them to the letter. A true patriot, Jo would do anything for her country. She is fiercely protective of her fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. When Jo reached her early adolescence her Halfling father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital.
