History: Gargax hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Gargax alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. As a young adult she joined a group advocating for an improvement in Halfling conditions. She bought a ceremonial dagger and has really upped her game hunting, due to her understanding of decoy and ambush.

Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever she goes.
