She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Doctor hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Ruler. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
