History: Mara hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. Mara was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

History: Astar hails from a village terrorized by orcs. Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, orcs burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the north, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying north to reunite his family. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He wants revenge against orcs; and someone believes him a fraud

His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, River is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, River grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Half-Orc companion (his 'brother'). He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 15 years.
