He refers to his adoptive father for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Beggar hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: Paelias was born in the north. At a young age he loved to build and create. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: He is witty, but his monotone delivery comes off as unnerving His philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Thorpe was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Personality: She is a melancholic, but persistent worker. She resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. The war was a terrible time for her, and Cloud does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: She comes from a rich western family. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.
