History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his father. Erky was born on a far western desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Engraver. Some 5 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Erky never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

History: Born in the west to a Weaver, Smoking learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He's also a talented Ploughman, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Personality: He is fixated on the number 49. He counts his steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. He seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. He will pursue extreme courses of action in the short term, confident that they cannot fail.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the north; and he is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally

History: Gifted from a young age, Curran studied abroad. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
