History: Baern was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

In his 20th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Serpent was born on a far southern desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Interpreter. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: She is extraordinarily passive and rarely speaks, let alone speaks her mind. She plays an instrument quite well.

History: She was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for her. It may also be what makes her so good at details. She has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to her frivolously. She hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure her.
