History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In her 16th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Jasmine alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.
