However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the giants.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: She's repulsed by the PC; and wishes to resurrect an old love

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Dilettante work with an outfit from a few towns over. Dilettante work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She's also a talented Barrister, but doesn't like to broadcast it.
