When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Priest hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. In her 12th year, her parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Tippletoe alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Motivation: Retire the richest woman in the south.

When he grew older, he became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. He began work as a mercenary for hire. He would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. One night she noticed a nearby shooting star which she hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.
