History: Mardred hails from a village terrorized by goblins. When she was little, her rather wealthy family often ventured across the desert to a summer home near a large cave. She would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and she was stranded inside. Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Mardred took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up halberd and armor she uses now. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: She is fixated on the number 85. She counts her steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. She seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. When she's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, she's doing painting.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. Her first spouse was a Guard, they had one daughter, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Marshal and was forced into it by her family; and to unite with her brother

Personality: She tends to agree with only herself unless someone else's opinion sounds like she can profit from it. She tries to control her temper but she can't always stop herself from what she feels what must be done. Her brief stint in the army gave her the idea she was invincible and that she is the toughest woman alive.

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. While she appears to be a normal Dragonborn, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

Motivation: She is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and she wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Emerald grew up listening to her mother's many stories. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Halfling companion (her 'brother'). Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by gnolls. Emerald was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the gnolls.
