History: Meriele was born with her mother's beautiful face. A serious injury left her mother unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm mother. She has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and she made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.
