He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying west to reunite his family. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

She was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Gnomish doctor. She has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Dyer.
