History: Chad hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Chad fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Being a Shipwright kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it; and wants his loneliness to end

She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

Motivation: Marry her sister to traveling adventurers; and she has comitted a past crime that haunts her to this day
