He is kind towards other men and children and will generally offer men help without question. Others will generally need to prove themselves to him.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and someone believes him a fraud

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Map Maker arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. A gifted student he started as a Layabout, but he got bored and became a Map Maker. He tends to his Map Maker job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: To be a Layabout again; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it
