History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. Bertram was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Shadow alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Shadow was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it

Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He used his abilities to travel the world and help people.

History: Born in the north his family was never financially stable. His mother took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Smoking fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
