History: Born in the south her family was never financially stable. Emmeline was a troubled youth. She spent her days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent her evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Emmeline decided she wanted neither the life of her mother nor that of the evil petty criminals she associated with. During her early adolescence, she took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. She has dedicated herself to building a better trade route.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. She took after her mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her mother taught her to defend herself. When her mother died while fighting brigands, the young Keyleth began to lead the lost caravan. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born in the west. His childhood dream was to be a Miller, but he was a colossal failure. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.
