History: Zaffrab was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes orcs are coming to abduct people. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of orcs may trigger it at times.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His mother was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Motivation: Regain custody of her daughter; and she is unsatisfied with her job

History: The child of western immigrants she idolized her father. Her father disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her father, she was betrayed dozens of times. By chance she met her brother recently and the two have been together since.

Personality: She hates dire rats. She views them as having robbed her home of its proper glory. She also hits on women, regardless of circumstances.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Half-Elven companion (her 'brother'). Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Merla was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the dire rats.
