History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Jacoba was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Mortician. She has worked as a Mortician like her mother before her.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the west. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Scribe hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Personality: She is enamored with her job. She loves it. She likes the challenge and she likes helping those less fortunate than her. She does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. She worked as a nervous Soapmaker and found it very stressful. She left for the east, certain she would find work there.
