History: The child of eastern immigrants she idolized her mother. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes brigands are coming to abduct people. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Bharash was born on a far western forest where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Spice Merchant. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and someone believes him a fraud

Personality: In the realm of puns, she cannot help herself. She feels obliged to make them. Around other people she will do her best to conceal her emotions and appear jolly.

History: Daar lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Navigator they were divorced and she won custody of their daughter. She worked as a Herbalist, and she later adopted a second daughter.

Personality: He is almost excessively polite to everyone, even when angry. The war was a terrible time for him, and Medrash does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Detective hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the east; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
