He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was born into a rich family. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Trained by her mother for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. In her formative years she discovered how persuasive she was. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

Motivation: To reunite with her absent mother.
