History: Shifting was born in the south. At a young age he loved to build and create. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: His arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Dwarves became a terror of the countryside. Some 9 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Eberk never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

Personality: She is erratic and paranoid. She believes gnolls are coming to abduct people. She invented a lineage for herself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Elves in Maiathah's homeland. Maiathah decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and obtaining odd cultural gnomish artifacts is her passion

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle; and marry his sister to traveling adventurers
