History: He was born in the west, but his parents moved at a very young age to the north. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to his current location. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Baern fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Personality: He hates Halflings with a passion. As such he is filled with self loathing. His actions favor neither the good nor the evil, as he answers to a power that mortal men fail to acknowledge.

History: Faran hails from a village terrorized by orcs. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Halflings in the north were limited. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A deep hatred of orcs; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: She was born on a small isolated farm. When she was little, her rather wealthy family often ventured across the forest to a summer home near a old dungeon. She would wander through that old dungeon and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and she was stranded inside. Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the forest due to the painful memories there. Avice took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up sai and armor she uses now. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. A gifted student she started as a Detective, but she got bored and became a Herbalist. She inherited the family business which she has now maintained for 7 years.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Herbalist responsibilities is difficult.
