Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes dire rats are coming to abduct people. He enjoys reading and quiet.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. Some 9 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Patrin never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Human companion (her 'brother'). In her journeys she found a malevolent artifact. She wishes to return this artifact and its corrupting influence back to where it came.
