History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Dadalan was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. From her teen years she was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on her. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
