History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Nalaed grew up listening to her mother's many stories. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Motivation: She is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and to reunite with her absent mother

She harbors resentment against her former mentor.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Mardnab was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
