History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Adelard alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Adelard was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
